Okay, I know I live in New Jersey, but you know what... fuck that, I live in New York City. To help feed my delusion I've decided to post a list of my favorite LOCAL New York City bands:
1)Clem Snide [3 years running in the #1 spot]
2)Les Savy Fav [Who knows, if their next album is a bit more SAVY they could become my FAVe][kill me now]
3)Interpol [I don't have the album yet, but PDA is stuck in my head in an endless loop and I totally dig it]
4)The Walkmen [Deconstructed the elements of rockabilly and threw in some Radiohead and it worked. Kinda like sneaking into The Museum of Natural History and reassembling the dinosaur bones to look like an art deco kitchen]
5)Yeah Yeah Yeahs+Da Strokes [YYY have too many rehashed JSBX riffs to really get excited, but I do plan on asking Karen O out to dinner one day. The Strokes? A decent, LITTLE pop band.]
6)David Bowie [He lives in Lower Manhattan, but he somehow doesn't count, but I decided to include him anyhow.]
