Yesterday was a horsey day.

I write to you from a place called Truth or Consequences New Mexico. I am visiting my father's farm here. It's funky.

Okay. It's the opposite of funky. Which makes it totally fun-kay. No. It's deep here. There is desert. There is sky. Owls hoot from the trees. The farm vibe is heavy. In Jersey City you watch your back. In Truth or Consequences you're looking in every direction.

First thing in the morning we discovered that the neighbor's horses had gotten through a gate and were graising in my father's Alfalfa field. It would have been a big deal if the contents of the field were being leaned on as a source of income, but here, for my father, the Alfalfa field is more of a souce of "something to do".

We went out to the horses to say hello. Man. You don't get this in New York. These horses were wonderful beings. Massive, MASSIVE beasts that are full of muscle and strength, yet, they are as gentle as babies and utterly graceful in their motions. Saying hello, rubbing their noses, patting their beautiful sides, stroking their manes. Man. It was really something. Totally beautiful creatures. These are the types of horses whose owners ride them every week, so they were very friendly and warm toward us.

Okay. I admit. I want a horse. But, yeah, not immediately. It's waaay low on the list. But a horse IS on the list.

Later on we went indoors. I was trying to help my pop out with an issue he was having with his TV + stereo system. In the course of trouble shooting I turned on the TV and the film Electric Cowboy was on. We wound up wathing the entire movie. It was killer. So fitting for the moment. The level of horse appreciation in the house was intense. Put this film on you NetFlix list.

And...

YAY FOR HORSES! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
